Instructions for preparing and submitting manuscripts

Author Instructions

The following requirements apply to all manuscripts submitted to the journal. Please prepare your article in accordance with these instructions before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

The article must be prepared in Microsoft Word text editor and should not exceed 10 pages.

Language

The article must be prepared in Azerbaijani, Russian or English.

Manuscript Structure

  • UDC – left-aligned, uppercase letters, bold;
  • title of the article – centered, bold;
  • author(s) surname, first name, patronymic – centered, bold;
  • author(s) affiliation, city, country and e-mail address – centered, italics;
  • ORCID code – centered;
  • keywords – italics;
  • introduction and other subheadings – left-aligned, bold.

Formatting Guidelines

  • • Page size: A4
  • • Margins: 2 cm
  • • Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt
  • • Line spacing: 1.5, with a 1 cm paragraph indent
  • • Page numbers: bottom, centered

Figures and Tables

All figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and referenced in the text. Each figure and table must have a descriptive caption.

Formulas are typeset in Microsoft Equation with standard parameters. Only formulas referenced in the text are numbered. The formula number is written in parentheses on the right.

Tables: Use simple borders and avoid vertical lines.

Abstract

The title of the article, the author's surname and initials, the keywords and the abstract must be provided in two additional languages different from the language in which the article is prepared.

The abstract performs the following functions:

  • allows determining the main content of the scientific article, its relevance, and whether it is necessary to refer to the full text of the article;
  • is used for information retrieval, including data searches in automated systems.

The abstract must cover the main features of the topic, the problems addressed by the scientific article, the goals of the work and the results. The annotation also indicates what new elements this article contains compared to other articles on the same topic and purpose.

Recommended average length of the abstract: 60–130 words.

References

Information about each reference in the list of literature used in the article must be provided in accordance with the bibliographic description for scientific articles.

In the list of references, preference should mainly be given to scientific articles, monographs and other reliable scientific sources and references published within the last 10 years.

Submission Process

  1. 1Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the guidelines above.
  2. 2Send your manuscript to journal@sdu.edu.az.
  3. 3The author bears responsibility for the content of the article.
  4. 4Wait for acknowledgment of receipt (3 business days).
  5. 5The editorial board reserves the right to make editorial changes and abridgements without affecting the main content of the article.
  6. 6The date of receipt of the manuscript is considered to be the day on which the final version of the text was received by the editorial board.
  7. 7If the article does not meet the requirements, it will not be published and will not be returned to the author.
